Where will the SCIP Annual Conference be held and what are the room rates?

SCIP has booked a limited number of rooms for this event. The deadline date to guarantee the SCIP special pricing for the guest rooms is March 24, 2008. After that date, the special SCIP room rates are no longer guaranteed and once the block of rooms are, reserved SCIP is not held responsible for the room rates quoted.
All reservation requests will require a credit card guarantee, a 1 nights deposit to confirm the room reservation.
My company or someone in my company is a member. Can I get a member rate?
The member rate only applies to individuals who are members. SCIP only recognizes individual memberships, not corporate memberships. However, we do have i.e. Group discounts available. For information on group discounts, please contact Marisa Beam, +1.703.739.0696 x101 or mbeam@scip.org
Does the non-member conference rate include SCIP membership?
No, but you can join SCIP now and register for the conference as a member. The join fee for membership is US$295. Select the “New Member” rate on the application or through the online process. Membership benefits will extend for twelve months from the date that your registration is processed.

The last day registrations will be processed in house will be Friday April 4th (one week grace at the regular rate). After this time, online registration will be taken down. After this date, registration must be completed onsite. Please note the onsite rate increases by $100 across all registration classes with the exception of the Student and Academic/Government Rate as of April 4, 2008
What does the Pre-workshop fee include?
- Attendance at workshops of your choice (fee per workshop)
- Workshop workbook for each workshop attended

What is the fee for the Workshop?
- Full Day $915 (mbr) $1,210(non member)
- Half Day $515 (mbr) $810(non member)
What qualifies me for the Academic/Government rate for the conference?
- Academic – i.e. Professor of a University
- Government – i.e. Works for a Government Agency
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellation policy and fees: All fees must be paid by the start date of the program. If an invoice was requested and SCIP has not yet received payment, you will be asked to provide a valid credit card number upon your arrival at the program. SCIP will charge your credit card if payment has not been received within 5 days after the close of the event.
All requests for refunds must be made in writing. Should you be unable to attend for any reason, please inform us IN WRITING no less than 21 days prior to the start date of the event. A credit voucher for the full registration amount will be issued or, if requested, a cash refund, less a 20% cancellation fee. No refunds OR credits will be given for cancellations received less than 21 days prior to the event start date. There are no exceptions to these policies.
Registration Transfer and No-Show policy and fees: All requests for transfers of registrations must be made in writing. Transfers may result in additional fees depending on SCIP membership status. There will be no refunds on transfers. No-Shows will not be eligible for any refunds and forfeit the registration fees paid. There are no exceptions to these policies.
SCIP reserves the right to cancel any SCIP08 pre conference workshops due to low registrations. Workshops with total paid registrations less than 12 will be considered for cancellation by March 31, 2008.
If your workshop is cancelled, SCIP offers the following options:
1. You may select another workshop. If the cost of the new workshop is higher, you will be charged the rate difference. If the cost is lower, you may apply the credit to another workshop(s) or request a refund.
2. All requests for refunds must be in writing. You can email your request to mbeam@scip.org or fax at 703.739.2524 Attention: Marisa Beam.
